Day One: Arrival On arrival at London Airport, you will be met by your Tour Manager and taken on an introductory panoramic tour of London. Then check in at your hotel; the rest of the day will be at leisure.
Day Two: Royal London Today you will visit Kensington Palace, which serves as the London home of many of the Royal Princes and Princesses. You will hear much about the Royal Family as you tour. On then to one of London’s finest museums; the Victoria and Albert, which houses a fine collection of applied art; paintings, sculpture, furniture and other items. Free time this afternoon for your own interests; your Local Guide is available to advise you on the best places for shopping. This evening, a special treat; you will visit the Tower of London when it is closed to the public, and enjoy a special private tour and a cocktail reception in the Crown Jewels House. (This is available to groups of 15 or more only)
Day Three: The Hampton Court Flower Show Visit Hampton Court today for the largest of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Flower Shows, which has built a reputation as a friendly event, full of interest for all gardeners. An exhibition of English Roses is an important part of the Show. The whole day will be spent at Hampton Court; an opportunity for you to see the demonstration gardens, explore the plant stalls and shop for garden accessories. Later, return to your London hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day Four: Leeds Castle and Canterbury Drive out of London to Leeds Castle this morning; known as the most beautiful castle in the world, Leeds is a most interesting place to visit , and you will enjoy a special presentation about the art of English flower-arranging. Enjoy Afternoon Tea before returning to your London hotel for the night.
Day Five: Roses of England Drive northwards out of London today, to visit The Gardens of the Rose, one of the most beautiful rose gardens in England. Your tour will show you many outstanding plants and give you many ideas for your own garden.
Continue into East Anglia, a beautiful region little-known to overseas visitors, for a visit to one of England's premier rose-growers. Check into your country-house hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day Six; Country Houses Visit Blickling Hall, one of the finest Jacobean properties in Britain. A tour of the house and garden is included. Continue to Sandringham House, the Queen’s country home, for a visit to the house and garden. Last stop will be at a private garden, which you will visit in company with the owner, before returning to your hotel.
Day Seven; Gardens of East Anglia Tour the Royal Horticultural Society’s garden at Hyde Hall today, a very varied garden with many outstanding features. You will also visit Beth Chatto’s garden, one of the few influential landscapes to have been created since the last war. This evening, travel to Aldeburgh to enjoy dinner and attend one of the concerts at the Benjamin Britten Festival.
Day Eight; Cambridge Check out of your East Anglia hotel this morning and drive into Cambridge for a walking-tour, showing you the Colleges and the riverside meadow known as the Backs. The emphasis is on the city’s gardens and literary connections, and your Guide will show you some of the well-known locations. A visit to King’s College Chapel is also included. Time at leisure for shopping and maybe a visit to one of the city’s museums. Drive on to your hotel close to the airport for a special Farewell dinner.
Day Nine; Farewell to England A sad farewell to scenic England this morning as you make the journey to the airport for your flight home.
