Day One; Arrival in Dublin Your Tour Manager awaits as you arrive at Dublin Airport and join your tour bus for the short drive to your city-centre hotel. The rest of the day will be at leisure for you to relax and explore Ireland’s capital.
Day Two; Dublin and The Royal The golfers will set off for the famed Royal Dublin course this morning. For the non-golfers, a a sightseeing tour which will show you the highlights; Trinity College, The Book of Kells, O’Connell Street and Phoenix Park. There will be free time for you to shop before you continue on to Fernhill, a romantic garden overlooking Dublin Bay.
Day Three; Portmarnock and Powerscourt For the golfers, a special treat today; a round at the Portmarnock course, one of the best in Ireland. Another special day for the non-golfers; a delightful excursion into the mountains of County Wicklow for a visit to scenic Glendalough and stunning Powerscourt Gardens, with a special Pub Lunch of traditional Irish fare!
Day Four; Waterford, Blarney and Killarney An early start this morning as you leave Dublin travelling south to Waterford, home of Ireland’s famous crystal. You will visit the factory and see how the glass is made, before continuing on to Blarney, where you can kiss the Blarney Stone for the Gift of the Gab! Home for tonight is the scenic town of Killarney, and Dinner awaits at your hotel.
Day Five; Land of the Lakes The golfers will set off for the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club for a round, whilst the non-golfers will enjoy a visit to Creagh, a varied garden sitting tranquilly on a wooded estuary surrounded by the sea, where every turn of the path leads to new delights. Stop in at the island garden of Illnacullin, perhaps the most special garden in the republic. An elegant Italian garden contrasts with a glorious wild shrubbery, and a ‘jungle’ is juxtaposed with a broad grassy walk. The group will reunite for dinner in a local Pub and traditional singalong entertainment.
Day Six; The Ring of Kerry The golfers will play Tralee today, whilst the rest of the group will enjoy one of the most scenic drives in Ireland; the Ring of Kerry, renowned for its views of mountains, lakes and wide seascapes.
Day Seven; Ballybunion and a Castle! Final round for the golfers today will be at magnificent Ballybunion, one of Ireland’s finest. The non-golfers will take a full-day excursion along the Shannon valley and into the Irish Lake District. Portumna Castle is first on our list of visits, an unusual Renaissance manor-house with a sensitively-restored garden. At Birr Castle Demesne, explore the fascinating estate of a family of outstanding gardeners, with a formal garden, wild woodland with a chattering stream winding through, an informal area, an arboretum, and acres of lovely parkland...something for everyone! Reunite at tonight’s hotel; a splendid Castle, to finish your tour in style!
Day Eight; Farewell to Ireland As you join your tour bus for the last time on the journey to the airport, you’ll already be planning your next visit to wonderful Ireland!
